    I had a series of the craziest realizations ever just now:

    1. I find out that Earth Defense Force exists in portable form
    2. I find out that part 3 is on Vita and it looks like the one on 360
    3. I find out that it’s the EXACT same one that was released on 360 back in 2006/2007 (Earth Defense Force 2017)
    4. I find out it was released today in Japan

    As if that didn’t blow my mind enough, it has local and online 4 player co-op. I really hope this game makes it to the west.

    @redswir1 I reviewed Solatorobo for the squad! I really love the game, I would kill to see a sequel. I do suggest you carry on with the game, I can’t say it’s short (20 hour game where each 10 hours are their own stories), but it is one of those games that will stick to you even after you’ve beaten it and put it back in the shelf.

    @impyknickers yeah, the language in E.Y.E. is made up

    In case you don’t know, the PSOne classics support update for the Vita is up, the emulation but has a pretty inconvenient form of getting the games on it (Oh, Sony…)

    Something that not a lot of people are talking about is that Playstation Mobile games (games that are available on Playstation-certified Android phones) are going to be playable on Vita, I can’t find a way to get the games there but there are a few I would like to finally play on there (Namely the Dead Space mobile game that I keep hearing is pretty good).

    I also recently beat Darksiders 2, in some cases it’s better than the first, but I really do miss the dungeons designed around ruined modern day buildings the first game had, the final boss was pathetic but I guess the ending wasn’t anything to complain about. Looking forward to the next two, I wonder how they play on the next games.

    This video was floating around youtube, with the help of the Playstation Suite (sony’s Vita, mobile and tablet SDK) you can remotely play PC games from your PC. I managed to get the Suite running both my PC and Vita, but it appears that the developer didn’t post the remote play progam anywhere. Now I’m not sure if Sony would ever green light this thing to the public, but the fact that it exists and that the device has that capability got me all excited.

    @feenwager You’ve gotta be happy with that! A lot of Dead Bull and perseverance!

    @RedSwirl Nothing wrong with being cautious.

    In my case, it’s a safe and affordable purchase I can put away some yen each month for, and considering I’ve got a nice little stock of original PSP titles on my account, there’ll be some older titles to soften the blow if the launch isn’t massively exciting. You know what would be good, though? A new Metal Gear AC!D title. Hell, I’d even settle for MGA2 appearing on the store. Quite possibly my favourite TBS on the system.

    It’d be a nice combo, PC and PSVITA. I have to fight for the use of our TV most of the time if I want some PS3 time, and I rarely win against the female tag-team in the house.

    @feenwager Indeed. *wink wink*

    Contrarily, this was the first time I found ol’ Blow to be tolerable! Not sure why, especially given I’ve little tolerance outside of the Squad for snobby forced high-brow’isms. I liked the slightly heated discussion. Granted, I did turn off the podcast after that, because if there’s one thing I cannot stand, it’s the decrying of Sony handhelds under the banner of “but it doesn’t encapsulate the idea of handheld gaming”. Piss off.

    Day One podcast, though…I skipped past the Mega64 guests to when David Jaffe walked in and listened to about an hour of it on the way to work today. Great discussion, really good dichotomy and breadth of guests. Looking forward to hearing more.

    @RedSwirl To answer you Vita question…I dunno, I’m hoping for some great strat titles on the thing, but I’ll settle for WipEout and LBP in the meantime, perhaps even Modnation Racers. The idea of having a touchscreen interface for user-created content construction is tantalising. Plus, having that fidelity means I one day want to design a LBP level for @feenwager, because it’d be nice to be that *one* guy who brings a smile to Jeff’s dial via a level that isn’t – in his eyes – crap. Tough mission to undertake, though!
