@redswir1 Glad you’re listening! I agree that if RE6 goes more horror and adventure, then the combat won’t be as much as an issue. But they’ve been trying to make a combat game with (what I feel to be) subpar combat.

And if Square wants to charge much extra for their games, watch me (and I presume a lot of other people) not buy them. Good, old capitalism.

Okay, kinda shameful to admit this, but I’m currently listening to my first Exploding Barrel Podcast. I’ve just now gotten enough space in my weekly podcast que for it. I just wanna say a little bit about the sections, I’ll probably edit it as thoughts come.

PS Vita price deregulation: That may have resulted in prices going down on iOS, but I can guarantee that Japanese developers will drive them UP. Every Square Enix game on PSV is probably gonna cost $10-$15 more than other PSV games. They already charge $16 for iOS games. It’s called the Square Enix tax. Expect other Japanese devs to follow.

Resident Evil 6: More than anything else, they just need to make it a damn horror game. I don’t care whether you can walk and shoot. I’d honestly like them to put more focus back on the adventure elements. Kinda worried now that Mikami’s gone now though.

@tolkoto @beige Great work on the recent EBP, guys. Always an enjoyable listen to come home to. I gotta say, though…one of the PSP’s strongest genres is racing! From Ridge Racer to WipEout, decent to great portable versions of the Midnight Club games, a very ambitious and enjoyable Test Drive Unlimited version, the TOCA games, Bugbear doing a very competent SEGA Rally Revo on the machine…not to mention Motorstorm Arctic Edge and Gran Turismo! If anything, I’d say it’s one of the machines saving grace genres.

By the by, Beige and Rampant, love the adventure genre. The little I could spend with BS this weekend, it was good to go back and soak up the goodness again. I’d forgotten just how good the dialogue is and how no-nonsense the puzzles are. George and Nico are such a gorgeous lead couple.

I’m kicking off Still Life pretty soon. From the little I played of it before my craptop format/reset, it seemed like a nice counter to Heavy Rain in a lot of ways.

@A.J. Best analogy ever! “Original Rayman with a touch of Rocko’s Modern Life” Thanks for making my day. Great broadcast, too!
