@feenwager @impynickers I never really cared about the overarching story or even the world in Origins. I only spent 60 hours on the game because I found almost all of the party members to be very likable and wanted to see each one of them through their personal stories. Does Dragon Age II have the same appeal?

Also, looking back, I’m gonna go ahead and say that the primary reason I keep my Wii around aside from the occasional exclusive is Virtual Console. I don’t emulate, so it’s been nice to see a very iTunes response to emulation. There are many VC games I own and intend to play through and some more that I still intend to buy. I didn’t play Super Metroid until I bought it on VC. Being just a click away from Super Mario RPG every time I access the Wii menu is pretty cool.

Just got to the final boss. I do not blame you if you skip it and YouTube the ending. Motherfucker I did not play the entire game on Survivalist up to this point just to knock it down at the last part.

What makes it worse is that after finishing the part immediately preceding this, I was thinking “wow, that was a pretty smart way to do a ‘final boss’ in the context of a game like Dead Space. I’m sure glad they didn’t tack on a traditional boss at the end, like so many other games that didn’t have or need bosses…”

@bowlisimo Last I checked Amnesia does have a Mac and even a Linux version.

Oh, and I also finished the Dragon Age Origins base game today. The Archdemon was actually one of the easiest bosses in my experience. Now I just need to figure out the proper order for all this DLC-expansion-save-game crap.

Oh, and guys, since I’ll be starting Dragon Age in a few weeks here, how much would playing Baldur’s Gate before or after this game affect my experience with either?

It’s amazing how quickly Dragon Age gets its hooks in me. Been playing Awakenings lately and while I have some fundamental disagreements with how they framed the whole deal, the core gameplay still really holds up.

@zegolf Thanks for the heads-up on the Gamers Gate sale. Now that the Mac version of Dragon Age is getting more DLC love, I can finally grab it on Saturday. It’ll play a very large role in helping me forget last weekend’s boot camp fiasco.

Bought The Witcher but I’m holding off on re-buying DA:O for now. Surely this won’t be the only time it’s on sale.

@angryjedi I played the Castlevania HD demo and the music and mashed-up presentation gave me a headache. It feels like a Castlevania casserole. Pass.

    Where the hell is @feenwager?

That GamersGate sale is triple-dipped in caramel. It’s the perfect time for me to pick up Dragon Age: Origins on the Mac ($20!) and play it as it was originally intended.

I’ll also grab the Witcher and just boot camp it. Surely it’ll run fine on my new iMac.

Man, I also still have my copy of Never Winter Nights 2 just waiting for a rig to do it justice. God I love PC RPGs…and being able to play ’em.
