    Squad Trivia Challenge 2

Missed out on that copy of Fusion: Genesis? Got a PC? Looking for some point and click action? Then boy do I have the freebie for you.

Ben There, Dan That! and Time Gentlemen, Please! from Size Five Games (nee Zombie Cow Studios) are two excellent point and clickers in the LucasArts vein. I bought the IndieRoyale bundle earlier, but I already had these games, so figured I’d give them to a needy person.

I’m not giving them up without some trivia, however. Same rules as before apply: first person to give me all five correct answers wins it, if no-one gets it right by tomorrow morning Jedi time, whoever was first and scored best wins. Email pjedavison at gmail dot com.

    READYBEGIN

    1. Give the full quote from the beginning of Eternal Darkness.

    2. In my restless dreams, I see what town?

    3. What is Amaterasu’s excitable companion in Okami called?

    4. The balloon seller in Grim Fandango can make a poet. Which one?

    5. What are the three non-player Star Wars: Republic Commandoes called?

    We have a winner!

ImpyNickers is the first to answer all questions correctly. Enjoy your shiny new copy of Fusion: Genesis, sir!

    Here are the correct answers:

    1. What is the name of the protagonist in Take On Helicopters?
    A: Tom Larkin

    2. Over how many days does Pathologic’s narrative take place?
    A: 12

    3. What is the name of the pig-like sidekick in Beyond Good & Evil?
    A: Pey’j

    4. Orz cannot be strange. Orz is Orz. Strange is other thing. You are the *silliest cow* even more so. At least you can *dance* with Orz. After the dancing Orz think you will make good ?????.
    A: Special Sauce

    5. What do you burn at both the opening and the conclusion of Persona 3 (non-FES edition)?
    A: Dread

Slight change to rules (sorry!) — one entry per person, obviously.

If no-one gets them all right, whoever got the MOST right will get the code. In the case of a tiebreak situation, the first person who answered gets it.

I say this because someone has already got in there first but didn’t get them all right. Boo! Will anyone get in there and beat him/her/it?

Cutoff point for entries will be end of today. I will award the code when I get up tomorrow morning.

Okay then. Let’s do this. Trivia it is, with a Squad twist. Winner gets a code for Fusion: Genesis on XBLA. Email me your answers to pjedavison at gmail dot com with the subject line Squad Trivia Challenge #1 and the first person (according to timestamps) to get them all right gets the code.

@Redswirl Time certainly has not been kind to MGS2. The gameplay can be mastered by the patient, and it is fairly rewarding and cinematic when one does, but you have to mess around with it alot.
Also, I feel that the dialogue in MGS2 is probably the poorest in the series. It was passable on release, and the crazy cinematic presentation made it all into an enjoyable spectacle … but today… not so good.
That said the rest of the games are still alright. 4 might not age so well if I think about it. However, 1, 3, and Peace Walker still hold up for me. Oh… and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. That game is tits. Sometimes I think that MG2 might just be my favorite Metal Gear. Any Metal Gear fan who hasn’t played it should.
Am I correct in assuming that it is included with the HD version of MGS3 subsistence? It seems strange to me that MGS1 is not included in the collection. I wonder what the plan is with that. Twin Snakes is still caught up in nintendo territory, but maybe they are planning something special there.

@Pete Hard to get everyone on one game, but I am all for a challenge. Failing all else … trivia.

So. Who is actually interested in the Fusion: Genesis code? Any of you got any ideas for a suitable means to determine who gets it? Frozen Synapse? Doom deathmatch?

@pete Did they ever add tourney mode to Frozen Synapse? I waited so long, and then just figured everyone would have lost interest 1 month+ down the road, so I never bothered to start it up.

@Pete I think the question is: who wouldn’t want a code for Fusion:Genesis? Sounds downright awesome to me.

    Squadron of Shame exclusive offer!

Who would like a code for a copy of Fusion: Genesis for XBLA, an 800 Microsoft Point value? The game is a sort-of massively multiplayer spaceborne top-down RPG with elements of action RPGs, twin-stick shooters and Privateer, with a soundtrack composed by Steve “Kameo” Burke. It’s been put together by a bunch of ex-Rare bods. I’m reviewing it for GamePro this week (probably Friday) but have a spare code if anyone desperately wants it. If more than one of you desperately want it, we’ll determine some means of fighting over it.
