@zegolf: Add me to your LoL friends list, Cyranix. I’m at Summoner Lvl 23 or so, I don’t have all the champions and have no runes whatsoever. I play with the Gamers With Jobs crew mostly, but I’ve always got time for Squaddies.

@RedSwirl: Just this week I was challenged to describe Shadow of the Colossus to some friends, coworkers of mine who are married to each other. I can’t give you an entertaining response to your question like NeoGAF might, but for what it’s worth: I stay away from any remotely technical language (“first person shooter”, “RPG”, etc.) and stick to 1) the important details about character and plot, 2) an overview of what the player does to make progress in the game, and 3) the emotion that the game evokes. So for SotC, I described the beauty of the desolation, the awe-inspiring sensation of scaling monumental beasts, the implied backstory of Wander, and so forth.

@bowlisimo No, whenever you see me in Warcraft III that’s actually my roommate playing DotA — I’ve tried to get him to switch to LoL but he hasn’t really bought into it yet, even though I consider it a pretty great improvement over DotA.

You kids with your newfangled game systems. (Yes, I know half of you are older than me.) I feel so out of the loop, having only recently obtained a DS Lite (with no games except Mario Bros) — all the talk of RDR and Blur is flying right over my head.

I have, however, branched out a tiny bit from my old standby games and gotten involved a little bit in League of Legends, the free-to-play DotA-style top-down fantasy-world team-combat overly-hyphenated game. Send an in-game friend request to Cyranix if you want to play together. I think that Euro players are segregated, which ain’t cool, but it does run on Adobe Air which I think means that Mac gamers can join the fray.
