@shingro You likes what you likes, and ain’t nobody can change that. This is the attitude I take these days, and it is serving me well. I am more than happy to talk about (and justify, if necessary) the fact I like MLP, but I certainly don’t expect everyone to do so. Likewise, I expect a similar courtesy in return — if someone doesn’t like MLP, I don’t expect them to try and convince me to come around to their way of thinking.

Same with games. Just because everyone bangs on about how good, say, Assassin’s Creed is doesn’t mean you have to like it.

Unfortunately, the Internet doesn’t always work that way. If you have an opinion that is against whatever The Consensus has decided that day, then God help you.

It’s the fact the hivemind is so fickle that irritates me. A couple of days ago everyone was all like YAAAAAY about that new Ouya console, while today everyone is all like BOOOOO. There is no middle ground.
